Extravaganza On Television With Jhansi Ki Rani
A highly motivating story of a woman whose only aim in life was to free her country from the British makes up the story of Jhansi Ki Rani, but the story is told in a highly exaggerated manner and it looks larger than life. Probably, this is done to highlight the lifestyle of royalty. Pitted against this is Pavitra Rishta, which is less extravagant. Both Dill Mill Gayye and Miley Jab Hum Tum too are also very extravagant in their presentation. With artistes portraying either too good characters or really bad characters, there doesn’t seem to be anyone with gray shades in their characterization. All Dill Mill Gayye are black or white. But whatever said and done, the shows on television like Jhansi Ki Rani and Pavitra Rishta on Zee and Dill Mill Gayye along with Miley Jab Hum Tum on Star One seem to be doing excellent business, earning revenue for their respective channels as is seen by the increasing sponsors. The music in these serials like Jhansi Ki Rani and Pavitra Rishta on Zee and Dill Mill Gayye as well as Miley Jab Hum Tum on Star One have a variety of melodious and highly lyrical songs which are released as an album for the serial.
