The name reborn dolls are derived from the method from which it is manufactured. You can compare the realistic looks of these dolls to that of a reborn babies. Vinyl is the material that is used to make these dolls. The paint applied on them is removed after that.
Disassembly is the initial step. After this step the artificial look of the doll is removed and the doll is given a realistic look. To the inside of head, hands and legs, purple color is added to achieve the realistic look. After painting the inside with purple color, the outer side of the skin is painted in skin colored paint to achieve the look of a reborn baby. To give much realistic look to the doll, real human hair or human-like faux hair is used. These are used as hairs and eyelashes for the dolls. A dozen of hours are taken to complete this process.
